The GIS Data Store is the provider of the electrical network data to the other systems such as Network analysis, energy audit etc. The database tire also includes data authoring stations for the administration and authoring of map data. Thus, this layer comprises of the data and information aspects within the enterprise. Data corresponding to each application stack is available in this layer. Global Network Group (GNG) is very proud to announce that one of the leading hypnotherapists in South Africa, John Dutton, has joined one of its subsidiary companies – IHR Register (International Hypnotherapy Register) and has been granted honorary membership within this Register.

Born in Great Britain, John moved to South Africa and became an Operations Director of a national retail concern; there he started to develop communication skills training programmes. He became recognised as a leading International Communication Skills Trainer, working in countries such as Egypt, Cameroon and Nigeria, and for companies in the UK, Germany and Dubai. He started practicing NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) in the late 70s and has adapted this in his hypnosis techniques and his teaching of therapists. John has treated and researched with over 11,000 people, specialising in the stress, depression and the anxiety spectrum. He has also worked with abused children and adults, rape victims and various trauma cases. He is now recognised globally for his work and also as one of Africa’s leading researchers and trainers in the field of modern clinical hypnosis.

Dutton is also well known for his work in areas such as “anger management” and hypnosis in criminal forensics. Based in Durban he facilitates throughout Africa and his key focus is to teach people to communicate and understand each other, thus enhancing everyone’s lifestyle and coping mechanisms. He is the author of Behind The Hypnotist’s Eyes and is currently working on two other publications to be released in 2016.

GNG has now branched out into Africa with an office in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the beginning of 2016. The joining of Mr Dutton is a testimony to both the success of this plan of expansion as well as the quality standards of the IHR Register.

With the growing demand for sectional title property throughout South Africa, there is an increasing trend to upgrade units – and when this is done efficiently and in good taste, such upgrades can add significantly to the value of the units and the scheme as a whole.

However, owners of sectional title units are obliged by law to get the permission of the scheme’s trustees first since they are not allowed to do any alteration work without this permission.

If an owner engages a contractor with the permission of his body corporate, it is essential to insist that every member of the workforce is registered in such a way that they can be identified during the course of the day and at the entrance and exit points. A full list of the employees on the site should be lodged with the trustees.

Insurance policy is important

In addition, no contractor on a sectional title scheme should be allowed to go ahead until he has proved that he has a paid-up, comprehensive, all risks/liability insurance policy in place the day he starts work. In most cases the trustees will see that this is done, but there have been instances where this matter was overlooked. The reason for this important policy ruling is that insurers will not accept responsibility for the insurance of a unit from the moment a contractor moves into it.

Even if a casual day labourer is taken on for a limited period to handle such simple tasks as painting or the rewiring of an electric network, the owner should see that some sort of insurance policy is in place. Insurance issues become even more complex when the body corporate’s common property is damaged, for example, if a contractor’s vehicle hits the entrance gate.

“Should a construction employee be killed or hurt, the body corporate’s trustees could be held responsible if it can be shown that they allowed the contractor to go ahead in a way that he did not comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Trustees must, therefore, familarise themselves with this Act and ensure that the contractor understands it and abides by its very comprehensive rulings.”

Gel fireplaces are an easy and inexpensive way to add charm, beauty, and warmth to just about any room in your home.

Most gel fireplaces sell for $350 – $500, but the price for specific models can differ by as much as 10% from retailer to retailer.

Shipping prices also fluctuate a great deal. For example, Home Shopping Network charges $55 to ship the same gel fireplace that Target ships for free.

Gel fireplaces are also called ventless fireplaces by some online retailers. Most of the time they are referring to gel fireplaces, but the term is also used to describe electric fireplaces.

Electric fireplace heaters are rated at 1,500 watts (5120 Btus) and are designed to heat around 200 square feet, or a 12′ x 16′ room.

The heat output of a gel fireplace is determined by the number of gel canisters
burning at one time. According to Sunjel Industries, a single can of their gel generates 3,000 Btus. If this is the case, you would have to burn two cans of gel to approximate the heat output of an electric fireplace.

An electric fireplace rated at 1,500 watts uses 1.5 kilowatts of electricity per hour. When you multiply 1.5 x .10 cents per kilowatt hour (the average price for electricity in the United States), the resulting cost to operate is .15 cents per hour.

A can of gel costs around $2 and burns for 2 1/2 – 3 hours. Two cans burning simultaneously would cost $1.33 per hour, or $1.18 more per hour than the electric fireplace.

But what price romance? Will it be the inexpensive droning of an electric fireplace blower or the magic of crackling flames from a gel fireplace?
